Scrub It Up

After spending hours looking at images on Pinterest to distract myself(the iPad has changed my life), I found several recipes for scrubs.  This is new for me.  Usually I'd just purchase my Mary Kay or Clinique and call it a day, but I decided I'd try some homemade stuff.  I'm SO happy that I did.  So happy that I need to share with you all (if anyone is still really reading that is).  :)

Pumpkin Face Mask
1 tablespoon of canned pumpkin
1 teaspoon of honey
1/2 teaspoon of milk

Combine all of the ingredients
Apply to clean face in a circular motion.
Leave mask on for 15-20 minutes, then rinse off with warm water.
Foot Scrub
1 cup sugar
Olive Oil to make it damp
a few drops of essential oil of your choosing.  I used Lavender but I want to try peppermint.

This is a good gift idea too.
And this is my favorite of all three:

1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon olive oil
a little honey can be added too.

I've been using these this week and I feel like my face  has never felt better.  Seriously.  I can't believe the difference.  Let me know if you try these!

iLove

I swear I'm almost ready to get back to blogging on the regular. I have a lot to say but most of it isn't fit for public viewing so I've tried to keep it away from blogville. And my usual trivial postings about nail polish and fluff haven't been on my mind much. 2011 2011 was one of two most challenging years of my life to date. The first was 2001. I guess it's good that it's every 10 years, right?

Anyway, in trying to get myself back to "normal" I decided i needed to do something for me that would make me happy. So I finally got an iPad. It's amazing! And though it doesn't fix things in life, it sure is fun! It's the little things.

Now I wonder if there is app for "happily ever after". :)

Game time!

I'm still here. Still not quite myself but trying to stay busy and distract myself with being crafty. Oh and watching basketball. It's probably the thing keeping me together these days. Forget Christmas--Basketball season is the most wonderful time of the year! So I decided to put together a little something for my friend Beth and her kids.  She's a fellow Orange fan & alum.

I gathered up some fun stuff (basketball plates, blowouts, orange utensils, cups, napkins, Syracuse chocolates, Otto kisses, bubbles, straws...)
Put it in a big orange bucket that I got at the Family Dollar during Halloween time  I modgepodged a few Syracuse basketball graphics on it and tied some ribbons to the sides.
Before I put the fun stuff in it, I added a swag that I made as the basket filler (this is like the swag I used for the Christmas tree and now hangs on my porch windows)
I fashioned up some Otto Kisses (I rewrote the little poem based on the snowman kisses thing I found--I like this one way better)
After everything was in place I shrink wrapped a gift basket bag to the bucket and tied it up with some fun ribbon.

I thought it was fun and I think it's a good idea for a spirit bucket for a fan!  I might have to market this during March.  But only for teams I like...
