It's the desk that I've had since I was in elementary school and until yesterday it was missing the knobs. I used to spend hours sitting at this desk writing letters, doing homework, painting my nails, etc. I believe it came from my grandparents and I loved it so much when I got it and still think it's really cute.
So I'm thinking of taking it with me to my apartment. I've measured and it will go nicely where I would put it. But I'm not sure yet. I'm envisioning a cute lamp on it and using it in my living room as a place to put my laptop and do other little projects (you know, catch up on my correspondence and solve the problems with the economy, etc.) I have a computer desk in my bedroom but there isn't a lot of space to spread out to do anything besides put the computer.
So my point of posting this is to ask your opinions. What do you think? Should I bring it back to my apt or leave it here?

I haven't been to your apartment in forever. However, I think that you should take it home. It sounds like you love it and it would be much more productive then your current desk. You can sell your current desk on craigslist (my new favorite way to unload things). I like that this desk has so much character and history!
I think you should take it with you. It sounds like you would love it if it were home with you and regret it if it weren't.
Take it with you, it's so cute!!
Maybe you should consult the Great and Powerful OZ! Ruler of the GFE :-)
I think the desk is very cute. I am all about keeping things that have sentimental value. That may be why my apartment is so full of stuff!! But I have a desk that my dad used to have when he was in college. I love the thing. It has been painted, repainted, new knobs put on, replaced....it's falling apart, and I don't care. I think you should totally take it to your apartment!! And thanx for your comment- pets always help!
take it with you, i say. try it out. if you don't like it, you can always take it back. :)
have a happy new year!

bring it to the O House women
Take it! It sounds like it's part of you. Agreed that if it needs temporary storage, it can always go back to the GFE.
I love that your dad reads the blog to find out that you're stealing his furniture!
Ha ha. It's totally not his though. It's mine, it's just lived at his house for many years.
